Fully incorporate rigorous and transparent science into national policy and regulation, with a key focus being the creation of a sustainable society.
Policy Actions (Federal & State)
To support this objective, Sustainable Australia Party will:
- Better fund and support pure and applied science
- Ensure students are science-literate through primary and secondary schools
- Rebuild and/or adequately fund public scientific flagship institutions such as the CSIRO, the Bureau of Meteorology, Australian Space Agency and medical research institutions
- Ensure enough quality public-sector jobs are available for science graduates and workers to stop the brain drain
- Invest more in environmental education and the protection, maintenance and ecological restoration of the natural environment (also see Environment policy)
- Support an ethical, locally developed AI framework that safeguards national security, protects jobs and communities, and advances environmental sustainability (also see Economy policy)
