POSITION TITLE: NSW Campaign Organiser - Sustainable Australia Party
JOB TYPE: Full time, ongoing 12-month contracts
LOCATION: Based at SAP HQ office in Crows Nest, Sydney
COMMENCEMENT DATE: September 2024
STRUCTURE REPORTING: Reports to the National Administrator
SALARY: $80,000-$90,000pa (depending on experience) + superannuation at 11.5%

In NSW we currently have local government councillors and are running in several local government elections.
Position Objectives

Implement Sustainable Australia Party campaigns in NSW
-
Facilitate improved Sustainable Australia Party election and other campaign results in NSW
-
Raise the profile and awareness of Sustainable Australia Party in NSW
-
Grow Sustainable Australia Party membership and financial support in NSW
Your Key Role and Tasks
-
Develop, manage and implement an annual NSW campaign plan and with strategies including: Election campaigns; Fundraising campaigns; Other specific theme and issue campaigns

Prepare and manage campaign communications and materials

Manage the NSW candidate nominations processes

Manage campaign expenditure and budgets

Manage risk and electoral law compliance
-
Establish, motivate, educate, train and empower volunteers to campaign, including phone banking, face-to-face gatherings, local actions, door knocking, public speaking, social media, etc

Report on campaigns and project status regularly to the National Administrator

Host monthly member and supporter events
-
Travel as needed for campaign events and field trips

Manage and grow the NSW Membership and database (the party uses the NationBuilder content management system software)

Work cooperatively with other SAP team members

In conjunction with the National Office (SAP HQ), manage our NSW social media accounts and responses

Assist the National Office with identifying NSW candidates
Selection Criteria: The Person We Are Seeking Has / Can / Is …

A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a senior role in elections and/or environmental issues campaigns
-
A self-motivated and hard-working individual who will take initiative
-
Comfortable working both independently and in teams, highly responsive, and able to lead initiatives as well as take directions

Advise, train and support candidates and volunteers
-
Establish projects from scratch
-
Experience in the environment movement

Motivated to have a positive impact on the future of Australia – and committed to SAP values
-
Able to use current Microsoft software with high quality output
-
Some working knowledge of NationBuilder
-
Strong project management skills with the ability to maintain tight deadlines

Punctual, responsible and dependable

Flexible and open to the role adapting over time to meet the needs of the organisation

Minimum of a Degree qualification at an Australian Higher Education Institution

An Australian Citizen
-
Not a member of another political party
-
Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
-
Experience working with the media, both traditional and online
-
Experience in campaigning, event management and online strategy
-
Knowledge of the NSW state and local government political systems and issues including planning and development
