November 2025 Update | A new era for SAP with 'Affordable Housing Now' campaign
Dear Members and Supporters --
Welcome to Sustainable Australia Party's November national eNewsletter.
2025 SAP Review
As you can see from the above eNewsletter banner, the 2025 SAP Review has produced results including a key message update for the next state and federal election cycle. For SAP, this starts with Victoria in November 2026, closely followed by NSW in March 2027.
After months of research, member feedback and due consideration, SAP's National Committee has endorsed an updated policy platform and a new messaging strategy.

You can find SAP's updated policy platform here.
Messaging strategy
SAP's recent review considered all member and supporter feedback, independent research on key community concerns and voting issues, as well as SAP's core values including sustainability and fairness.
In summary, the National Committee unanimously agreed that putting the housing crisis at the centre of our campaign messaging was the best option, especially given housing's central role in the economic, environmental and social sustainability of Australia.
While SAP has campaigned on affordable housing for over a decade, it will now take centre stage in our messaging and campaigns.
SAP will focus on both supply and demand aspects of the crisis including governments delivering more affordable homes, less investor tax breaks and slower migration.
In short, the National Committee also considered the following questions:
- Is affordable housing aligned with our mission to create a fair and sustainable Australia?
- Will our strategy help young Australians by giving them a fair go?
- Was housing consistently mentioned by our members in the recent review process?
- Are all other political parties and independents failing to address the housing crisis in a meaningful and environmentally-friendly way, including via the critical demand side of the issue?
- Is housing (and the related cost of living) a top three voting issue?
Our decision was YES on all fronts!
Ballot paper
To highlight our campaign message you will now see affordable housing take pre-eminence, with SAP's registered name for the ballot paper to be:
AFFORDABLE HOUSING NOW – SUSTAINABLE AUSTRALIA PARTY
This represents a new and exciting era for SAP. One which priorities a key crisis of our time, while maintaining our strong sustainability heritage.
We now intend to launch our Victorian and NSW election campaigns in March 2026. With an improved financial position relative to the last few years, as well as a voting public more receptive to minor parties and our particular message, we believe we will be very competitive.
We'll provide further updates on our 2026-27 campaign strategy in the coming weeks and months.
Now, will you help us to launch our new campaign and win seats in Victoria in 12 months, then NSW a few months later?
Donate today
If you are aligned to our founding and ongoing core issue of sustainability, as well as wanting a fair future for all Australians, we encourage you to donate to the cause.
The new era starts now.
As always, we welcome member and supporter feedback.
Best regards,
John, for the National Committee
