Sustainable Australia Party is an independent community movement with a science and evidence-based approach to policy - not left or right ideology or culture wars. We contest a range of federal, state/territory and local government elections.

SAP has developed a broad policy platform with the sustainable solutions to address Australia's growing economic, environmental and social problems.

Affordable Housing Now

To help achieve a fair and sustainable Australia, SAP prioritises the fight for affordable housing now, the sustainable way.

Unlike the Liberals, Nationals, Labor, Greens, One Nation and Teals, SAP tackles all the major supply and demand-side issues to sustainably solve the housing crisis, stop over-development, and protect our local environments and communities.

SAP's housing plan will deliver:

  • Lower rents
  • No stamp duty
  • Slower migration
  • More social housing

Legislative Assembly (Lower House) candidate

Sydney candidate - Christopher Thomas

Christopher works full-time as a captain of a boat in Sydney Harbour. His formal education includes natural resources, economics and politics.

Christopher has experience in environment-based volunteer work and political campaigning. He will work tenaciously to protect nature and our finite natural resource base. As a renter himself, he is also passionate about opportunities for every generation of Australians to access affordable housing, including rental accommodation.

Christopher enjoys spending time in nature. He has recently completed bikepacking tours in Tasmania and Queensland, and also loves the Royal National Park coastal walk. Outside of nature, he also enjoys learning how to cook 'mum's recipes' with his elderly mother in Surry Hills.
