2026 Victorian Election South-Eastern Metropolitan Region candidates | Affordable Housing Now - Sustainable Australia Party

Introduction

Sustainable Australia Party is an independent community movement with a science and evidence-based approach to policy - not left or right ideology or culture wars. We contest a range of federal, state/territory and local government elections.

SAP's mission is to create a fair and sustainable Australia.

SAP has developed a broad policy platform with the sustainable solutions to address Australia's growing economic, environmental and social problems.

Affordable Housing Now

To help achieve a fair and sustainable Australia, SAP prioritises the fight for affordable housing now, the sustainable way.

Unlike the Liberals, Nationals, Labor, Greens, One Nation and Teals, SAP tackles all the major supply and demand-side issues to sustainably solve the housing crisis, stop over-development, and protect our local environments and communities.

SAP's housing plan will deliver:

  • Lower rents
  • No stamp duty
  • Slower migration
  • More social housing

South-Eastern Metropolitan Region

South-Eastern Metropolitan Region Candidate - Brandon Hoult

For a fair and sustainable Australia

Brandon is a dedicated local driven by a deep commitment to the south east area of Melbourne where he grew up and still lives. He is not a 'career politicians' and believes true democracy starts at the grassroots. Brandon is campaigning for affordable housing for all, social housing to prevent homelessness, fair infrastructure investment to accompany new developments, upgraded local bus and train services, and support for the local live music and arts sector.

Brandon’s local vision also pairs housing affordability with community safety, a renewable energy transition, better health care, stronger restrictions on relentless gambling ads, and better skills training and education for local workers.

If elected, Brandon will give local residents a genuine voice in neighbourhood development to protect our leafy suburbs, native wildlife, and local character from inappropriate high-rise over-development, prioritising gentle medium density infill (2 to 6 storeys) over high-rise.

A Hawthorn supporter and arts enthusiast who supports our local live music and theatre scenes, Brandon has also lived with Crohn’s disease since 1995. His fight for public services is therefore deeply personal. He is a staunch advocate for our healthcare system, campaigning for safer nurse-to-patient ratios, fairer conditions for health workers, and relief for junior doctors facing extreme hours. As a long-time Movember fundraiser, Brandon also remains dedicated to supporting men’s health and mental health initiatives.

Brandon is completely committed to building a healthier, more compassionate society.
