Our regular coffee catch-up on the first Sunday of each month will not take place in September as it clashes with Father’s Day. Next meeting will be 1st Sunday of October

EVENT | Mt Rothwell Biodiversity Interpretation Centre:

Victorian members of Sustainable Australia are invited to take part in a night time tour of Mt Rothwell Biodiversity Interpretation Centre in Little River south west of Melbourne on Saturday evening 4th February. There they will encounter Eastern Barred Bandicoot, Eastern Quoll, Rufous Bettong, Southern Brown Bandicoot and Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby over 1.5-2 hours. Costs will be Adults $35, Children under 17 years old $25, Children under 5 years old are free. There may be a discount available for those experiencing financial hardship.

Arrival will be around 7-7.30pm to allow people to use the free BBQ facilities to have a meal and socialize before the tour begins at 8.30pm (sunset). We encourage members to car pool or can also pick people up from Little River station nearby (train leaves 6.10pm Southern Cross station and arrives 6.49pm Little River).

Early response to register interest is encouraged so we have an idea of numbers, with numbers and payment to be finalized by late January. ****Please RSVP via a COMMENT on this page. I will respond accordingly.****

Members will need to bring any food they wish to have for dinner, a torch/spotlight, suitable attire including sturdy walking boots (a reasonable level of fitness will be required for walking in the fields).

Mt Rothwell Biodiversity Interpretation Centre is on Mt Rothwell Road. Note that there are several Mt Rothwell Roads in the area; to get to the centre you need to get off the Princes Highway at the Little River exit, follow Little River Rd west and cross the train line turning left onto You Yangs Road, turn north onto Little River-Ripley Road, which will eventually turn west after 5 km, then turn south onto Mt Rothwell Road after 1km.
