Wyong 2023 - Sustainable Australia Party

Legislative Assembly (Lower House)

Wyong candidate - Susan Newbury

Susan is a lifelong resident of the Central Coast and over her lifetime has seen rampant overdevelopment fueled largely by population overflow from Sydney, as increasing rents and house prices have forced people to seek more affordable housing. She believes the area has largely become a dormitory suburb of Sydney with large numbers of commuters making the long journey to work in the city each day.

Susan is concerned that the haphazard nature of overdevelopment on the Central Coast has seen a lack of proportionate infrastructure and the deterioration of the local environment. For example, the siltation of the Tuggerah Lakes system has been accelerated by land clearing and reclamation of wetlands for housing. She believes that protecting our environment must be prioritised in any future developments on the Central Coast.

Legislative Council (Upper House)
