Sustainable Australia Party
Sustainable Australia Party is an independent community movement from the political centre, with a positive plan for an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable Australia. We believe in a science and evidence-based approach to policy - not an extreme left or right ideology.

Campaign issues
Sustainable Australia Party has three (key) campaign priorities - protect our environment, stop overdevelopment and stop corruption:
Protect our environment
- Better manage our water security
- Adopt a properly enforced national biodiversity and native species program
- Act on climate change
Stop overdevelopment
-
Better planning to stop overdevelopment and the systemic corruption in the WA planning system [1]. SAP will fight for:
- Proper community consultation including local citizen juries
- Infrastructure provision before new housing
- Lower state-driven population growth targets
- Save the pristine headland at Gnarabup Beach from a hotel development
- Let the Martuwarra Fitzroy River run free
- Save Ocean Reef from a grossly oversized marina development
- Stop the sprawl in Perth Hills
- Don't dam the Donnelly River
Stop corruption
- Ban all property developer political donations at state and federal level [2]
- Stop foreign ownership of our housing, farms and land
And there's much more...

[1] WA Today: Perth's tangled web: Property, power and the people who pull the strings - Perth residents frequently contact WAtoday in anger at the decisions of government planning boards, whose processes are often shrouded in secrecy. This is Part I of the Tangled Web series, which examines potential causes of that distrust.
[2] The Conversation: "Both major parties joined forces in federal parliament to weaken political donations laws. This will make it easier for federal politicians to accept secret donations from property developers..."
