2020 AGM - SUSTAINABLE AUSTRALIA PARTY

The 2020 Annual General Meeting will be held on Saturday 12 December at 3:00pm (for 3:15pm to 5pm) in Sydney.

Venue: Pilone Room, Level 3, Crows Nest Community Centre, 2 Ernest Pl, Crows Nest NSW.

MOTIONS TO UPDATE THE CONSTITUTION

The committee recommends the following four changes to the constitution and will propose them to members at the upcoming AGM:

 

1)    Section 1. (1)

From:

(1)  In this constitution:

       association means Sustainable Australia, formed to operate as a national political party, which may be registered with relevant State or Territory electoral bodies as Sustainable Australia (ACT), Sustainable Australia (NSW), Sustainable Australia (NT), Sustainable Australia (QLD), Sustainable Australia (SA), Sustainable Australia (TAS), Sustainable Australia (VIC) or Sustainable Australia (WA).

To:

(1)  In this constitution:

       association means Sustainable Australia, formed to operate as a national political party, which may be registered with relevant State or Territory electoral bodies as Sustainable Australia Party, Sustainable Australia Party – Stop Overdevelopment / Corruption, Sustainable Australia (ACT), Sustainable Australia (NSW), Sustainable Australia (NT), Sustainable Australia (QLD), Sustainable Australia (SA), Sustainable Australia (TAS), Sustainable Australia (VIC), Sustainable Australia (WA), or similar, as determined by the committee.

  1. Objectives and Philosophy

Sustainable Australia objectives are as follows:

(1) Secure an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable Australia, including stabilising Australia's population as soon as practicably possible, aiming for a population of around 26-30 million through to 2050;

(2) To provide leadership and support to other countries experiencing rapid population growth so as to help them stabilise their populations, and thus help stabilise global population; and

(3) To promote the election of endorsed candidates to Commonwealth, State and Territory parliaments, and Local Government bodies in all Australian jurisdictions.

Sustainable Australia objectives are as follows:

(1) Secure an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable Australia; and

(2) To promote the election of endorsed candidates to Commonwealth, State and Territory parliaments, and Local Government bodies in all Australian jurisdictions.

 

3)    Section 15. (2)

  1. Composition and membership of committee

(2) The total number of committee members is to be between 3 and 10, as determined at the annual general meeting.

To:

  1. Composition and membership of committee

(2) The total number of committee members is to be between 3 and 8, as determined at the annual general meeting.

 

4)    Section 16. (2) and (3)

From:

  1. Election of committee members

(2)  If insufficient nominations are received to fill all vacancies on the committee, the candidates nominated are taken to be elected and further nominations are to be received at the annual general meeting.

(3)  If insufficient further nominations are received, any vacant positions remaining on the committee are taken to be casual vacancies.

To:

  1. Election of committee members
