Legislative Assembly (Lower House)
South Coast candidate - Deanna Buffier
I nominated myself as a candidate for the Legislative Assembly as a Sustainable Australia Party member because I want to be more proactive in conserving our Australian natural environment; its oceans, bushland, waterways and animal habitats while ensuring sustainable housing, jobs, markets, education, transport and health infrastructures.
Humanities occupy my leisure time: I like to visit museums, art galleries and attend operas, interstate and overseas, while indulging in painting, gardening and reading books at home. Bushwalking and beach strolls have rewarded me with appreciation for our wonderful and unique Australian environment
I have a family of adult children and grandchildren who bring me joy and insight into issues faced by young Australians today. As the nominated carer for my mother, I am aware of the issues faced by older citizens and Aged Care providers.
I am retired and my early career as a primary teacher in NSW, then later as Senior Secondary teacher, teaching Senior History and English in Goulburn, Crookwell and Canberra colleges, has allowed me to develop deep understanding and knowledge of current issues in education for teachers, students and parents.
